FAQ's
Q. What is IBI’s expectation regarding methods of compensation?
A. At IBI we believe that compensation is an exchange of value for value. We recognize that in a free market economy where capital is supplied by investors and overhead is incurred by management, a contributor must add more value than he/she receives.
We think that straight forward task related projects are best compensated by charges per unit of time or unit of accomplishment. In other cases, percentage compensation can mitigate risk between the principal and the provider and incentivize the provider.
Q. Is it necessary for all international program participants to speak
each others language?
A. As in any business program, communication is essential. So from an ideal point of view, YES! In reality, very few have the knowledge of two languages and the understanding of all technical and business issues involved in a project. Communication in negotiating and understanding of critical situations such as technical specifications and contracts is best handled by knowledgeable experts through competent interpreters.
The ability to work through an interpreter and insure communication is a learned skill that requires some knowledge of the second language. So, language lessons for all
long-term participants in a program is advisable. |
